So, one of my resolutions for 2011 is to start a blog centered mostly around my love of food. Cooking is my passion and I love sharing recipes, ideas and experiences. Too many of us think that cooking from scratch is too old school and so we resort to buying ready done foods. Not knocking anyone, but have you read labels recently? Cooking from scratch is not as difficult or time consuming if you prepare and have the right tools of course.
Way back when I was a Brownie and just about 7 years old, I was preparing for my bakers badge so I tried to make a cake at home. Let's just say it was a disaster. Maybe it was a sign of things to come as it resembled the crater at La Soufriere volcano. That could have been the end of my journey but Daddy said "Butter, flour, sugar and egg is cake. Make another one." I have not looked back since.
I am mostly self-taught with a few short courses thrown in. Some beneficial, some not so much. Youtube is a great source of information. So to is my friend and fellow cakeist, Brianne whom I shall feature in the future.
